Is Your Home Green?

A Green Home Reality
Energy independence was once thought of something only for hippies and tree huggers. Nowadays, the Jones’ are going green at home and energy indpendence is becoming as common cutting your own grass.
Put aside the lawn mower and make way for a some solar panels, wind turbines, and a DIY biodiesel facility in your garage. These will be the home improvement projects that people will be making in the 21st Century. There’s no doubt about it.
If you’re one of those people who thinks going ‘green‘ is still years away, think again!
Energy independence has already taken over many communities, even here in the resistant United States of America. Just ask Puget Sound Energy. They no longer supply electricity to Laura Plaut’s six-acre farm on Lummi Island in Washington state. She installed a solar power system and started generating it herself. It’s not a lot, but it’s a step toward sustainability and energy independence she says. Wind power is her next step.
Today change is slow for most Americans. We tend to get complascent in our lifestyle until something tragic happens. Unfortunately, waiting for a national crisis to take action just doesn’t cut it. If our nation is going to truly become energy independent from foreign oil to fuel our energy needs, it’s up to the consumers to make the change. Consumers run the ecomomy, don’t forget that.
Talk about biofuel increased, especially over the summer, and a lot of people are tinkering around, but interest has declined recently along with gas prices. Once again, this lull in gas prices makes our society relax, consume more, and will eventually drive prices back up again. Learning to make your own biodiesel now is one of the smartest things you can do to move yourself towards energy independence.
Local leaders are worried about a future without oil. Earlier this year, the Bellingham City Council and Whatcom County Council in Washington state created a task force to develop recommendations for how we can address dwindling oil supplies and energy independence. Whatcom County leads the nation in green energy production and usage.
So, how do you start energy independence?
The answer: ONE STEP AT A TIME.
Energy independence doesn’t come in a day. Not even a week.
Starting your own Free Energy Program is perhaps THE best energy decision you could make. You set up your own home energy system ONCE and it continues creating unlimited energy for with you over and over again automatically.
And… the VALUE of your house will only increase with the installation of a home energy generation system.
When people take action, their results can have a huge impact on how our nation uses it’s energy sources. There is a movement in America towards energy independence but it will only go as far as each and everyone of us take it.
